FAQ
- Is the file sent to a server?
- Yes — converting PDF to Word needs full office libraries (LibreOffice) that are impractical in the browser (~200 MB). The file is sent over HTTPS and deleted immediately after processing. Nothing is stored.
- What is the maximum file size?
- Up to 50 MB.
- Which PDFs are supported?
- Standard text and mixed PDFs. Scanned documents (images without a text layer) convert but their text is not editable — that requires OCR. Password-protected PDFs are not supported.
- Is formatting preserved?
- Basic formatting, tables and images carry over. Complex layouts with columns or unusual fonts may convert with deviations — that is a LibreOffice limitation, not ours.
- Is registration required?
- No, sign-up is not required. The tool is completely free.
- What if the conversion fails?
- Try another PDF. The cause is usually a damaged file or an unusual structure. If the problem persists, drop us a line.
