Simple tables stay local, complex go to the server
Convert an Excel spreadsheet to PDF for email, printing or archiving. XLSX, XLS and ODS are supported.
By default single-sheet tables up to 2 MB and up to 5000 cells are converted right in your browser - the file never leaves. Multi-sheet workbooks, large or formula-heavy spreadsheets automatically fall back to server conversion via LibreOffice: the file is sent over HTTPS and deleted immediately after processing.
How it works
Pick your Excel file
Upload XLSX, XLS or ODS via the button or drag the file into the browser.
Click "Convert to PDF"
We inspect the file and pick the right path: simple tables stay local, complex ones go through LibreOffice on the server.
Wait for the result
Local conversion is near-instant; server conversion takes a few seconds depending on the spreadsheet size.
Download the PDF
Download the finished PDF in one click. Server files are deleted right after processing; local files never leave your browser.
FAQ
- Which formats are accepted?
- XLSX, XLS and ODS (OpenDocument Spreadsheet). This covers all Excel versions and LibreOffice Calc.
- Is the file sent to a server?
- It depends on the file. Simple single-sheet tables up to 2 MB and 5000 cells are converted in your browser, so the file never leaves. Multi-sheet workbooks and large or formula-heavy spreadsheets need server conversion via LibreOffice. The result page tells you honestly how it ran - "Local" or "Server".
- Can I always convert on the server?
- Yes. After a local conversion the result panel exposes a "Convert on server" button that re-runs the same file through LibreOffice for more precise styling.
- What is the maximum file size?
- Up to 50 MB. Most spreadsheets are well under this limit.
- Are formulas preserved?
- Formulas are evaluated and rendered as their final values. Live links and macros are not carried over - PDF is a static format.
- Are multiple sheets included?
- Yes. Multi-sheet workbooks are automatically routed to server processing and each sheet becomes its own PDF page.
- Are password-protected files supported?
- No. Remove the password before converting.
- Is registration required?
- No, the tool is completely free with no sign-up and no watermarks.
